Eric J. Harter
Education Eric graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.B.A. in Finance. He graduated Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (“Case”). Corporate Practice Eric has served the corporate and general legal needs of a variety of businesses for the Firm, both institutional and entrepreneurial. Real Estate Practice The real estate legal needs of a variety of corporations, businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, community development corporations and individuals have been served by Eric. Litigation Practice Firm litigation engagements on which Eric has assisted have included, among others, contract litigation, employment law, foreclosure, copyright infringement and pension liability. Employment Law Practice Firm engagements on which Eric has assisted have included, among others, consulting on personnel and human resource issues, updating of employee policy manuals and employment and severance contracts. Not For Profit Organizations Practice Not for profit organizations within the Firm’s communities have sought the Firm’s and Eric’s counsel on a broad variety of issues facing those organizations, including compliance with selected federal and state laws and regulations, tax, employment law, real estate, financing, intellectual property and litigation. Professional Involvements Eric is or has been a member of the following Bar Associations and Sections within those Associations: American Bar Association; Ohio State Bar Association; District of Columbia Bar Association - Labor and Employment Law Section and Real Estate, Housing and Land Use Section; and the Virginia State Bar Association. Speeches and Presentations Eric has been a speaker on and made presentations regarding various employment law issues and various aspects of real estate transactions. Prior Business Experience Prior to law school, Eric worked as a Financial Analyst and Manager of Billing, Collections and Fraud Prevention for Startec Global Communications. Outside the Office At William and Mary, Eric ran Cross Country. Today, Eric runs in marathons and 10Ks.
